Target：目標，靶子

例：

She paid all her attention to the aim, but the arrow fell short.

她把所有的注意力集中在八字上，可仍然未中標。

He took aim to the prey, waiting carefully and quietly.

他瞄準獵物，靜靜地等待。

Her position is too conspicuous, which makes it an easy target for others.

她的位置太顯眼，很容易成為其他人攻擊的目標。

Maybe it is too easy for you to achieve the target so fast.

也許目標對你來說太簡單了，所以你能很快地完成。

The ugly duckling became the target that geese laughed at.

丑小鴨成了白鵝們嘲笑的對象。

Aim側(cè)重比較具體而明確的目標，但是一般指短期目標；而target指射擊的靶，軍事攻擊目標，引申指攻擊、批評或嘲笑的目標。

Goal：目標，終點

Purpose：目的，意圖

例：

Developing the economics of our city is the primary and long-term goal.

發(fā)展我們城市的經(jīng)濟是首要也是長期目標。

We should understand what the goal is before taking measure.

在采取措施之前我們必須搞清楚目標是什么。

I knew he stepped on your foot on purpose.

我就知道他是成心踩你的腳的。

The purpose of the occasion was to inspire disabled people.

這次活動的目的是為了激勵殘疾人。

Goal指經(jīng)過考慮和選擇，須經(jīng)堅持不懈的努力奮斗才能達到的最終目標；普通用詞，既指以堅決審慎的行動去達到的，目的，又指心中渴望要實現(xiàn)的目標。

End：目標

Objective：目的，目標

Object：目標，對象

例：

She pursued her own end all her life.

她窮盡一生追求自己的目標。

Accurate military objective is helpful to make battle plan.

精準的軍事目標對于制定作戰(zhàn)計劃非常有用。

Our object of the activity is to raise money for the charity.

我們這次的活動目的是為了慈善捐款。

end指心目中懷著的某種目的，強調(diào)結(jié)果而非過程，較正式用詞；Object強調(diào)個人或需求而決定的目標、目的；Objective與Object基本同義，但是語義更為寬泛，指具體或很快就能達到的目的，也可指軍事目標，是書面用詞。
