1. Progress：進(jìn)步，發(fā)展，前進(jìn)

Time is progressing, winter has come.

光陰似箭，冬天已經(jīng)到了。

We are progressing with the study on behavior of human beings.

我們正在進(jìn)行人類(lèi)行為學(xué)的研究。

2. Proceed：繼續(xù)行進(jìn)；行進(jìn)

例：

The army proceeded from there to north.

軍隊(duì)從這兒向北方前進(jìn)。

The project is proceeding well.

工程進(jìn)行的很順利。

3. Advance：發(fā)展，前進(jìn)

例：

Advance a chessman I point, you will win.

把我指著的棋子往前移動(dòng)，你就會(huì)贏了。

The general advanced the army to the higher place.

將軍指揮軍隊(duì)前進(jìn)到高處。

4. Strive：努力，奮斗，抗?fàn)?/span>

例：

He tried his best to strive for success.

他拼盡全力向成功前進(jìn)。

He is striving to explain it in more details.

他力爭(zhēng)做出更詳細(xì)的解釋。

5. go forward：發(fā)生，前進(jìn)

例：

The boys went forward before dawn.

孩子們天還沒(méi)亮就出發(fā)了。

My work goes forward very well.

我的工作進(jìn)展的非常好。

progress 多用于表示自然過(guò)程，指生長(zhǎng)、發(fā)展等穩(wěn)定地或循環(huán)往復(fù)地前進(jìn)；

proceed 強(qiáng)調(diào)從一處向另一處的運(yùn)動(dòng)，常表示停頓后繼續(xù)前進(jìn)；

advance 表示向一個(gè)特定的目的地，在一定的時(shí)間或空間內(nèi)穩(wěn)定地向前運(yùn)動(dòng)。
